Four people injured in two separate accidents

LAKE OF THE OZARKS – A two-vehicle accident last Wednesday in Camden County sent two to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) at 9:00 p.m. on South Highway 5 North of Dry Hollow Road, a 2011 Ford Fusion, driven by a 17-year-old male from Urbana, MO, was traveling north when a 2011 Lincoln Passenger car, driven by a 21-year-old male from Sunrise Beach, MO, came up from behind and hit the Fusion in the rear “at a high speed” causing both cars to go off the right side of the road.

The driver of the Fusion and a 16-year-old female passenger in the car had minor injuries and were taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. Neither was wearing a seat belt but the driver of the Lincoln was.

Both cars were totaled in the crash.

The MSHP refused to release the names of those involved.

Another two-vehicle accident last Friday also sent two to the hospital.

A 2021 Jeep Compass, driven by a 78-year-old male from Lake Ozark, MO, was stopped westbound in traffic at Route MM at Route TT at 5:30 p.m. in Camden County when a 2000 Chevy Tahoe, driven by a 37-year-old female from Sunrise Beach, MO, came up from behind and failed to stop, hitting the back end of the Jeep.

The driver of the Tahoe suffered minor injuries and was taken by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital and later arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.

The Tahoe had minor damage and the Jeep had moderate damage. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

The MSHP refused to release the names of those involved.
