Warrant lands woman in jail on drug charges

CAMDEN COUNTY – A Camden County woman has been arrested on drug charges after a search warrant was served last week.

Last Tuesday (April 30) deputies from the Camden County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) and Task Force Officers from the Mid Missouri Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force served a search warrant at The Peanut Gallery, a business on North Highway 5 in Camden County.

In addition to being the business location, the Peanut Gallery also serves as the residence of suspected drug trafficker, Jennifer L Schanuel, 54.

According to the CCSO, during the service of the search warrant deputies seized 54.5 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia including a scale and a pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine along with four firearms.

Schanuel was arrested and transported to the Camden County Adult Detention Facility where she is charged with Trafficking Drugs - 2nd Degree (Felony) and four counts of Unlawful Use Of Weapon - Subsection 11 - Possess Weapon And A Felony Controlled Substance (Felony).

Schanuel is being held without bond.

“This arrest and these charges are the result of a months-long investigation involving the cooperation of several law enforcement agencies,” said Camden County Sheriff Chris Edgar. “Our partners from MIDMO have a proven track record and an excellent working relationship with our sister agencies. Working together we can continue to combat the drugs in our community.”

These charges are merely allegations of wrongdoing and all suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
