Juvenile injured when car hits tree

LAKE OF THE OZARKS – A juvenile was injured in a one-vehicle accident on Sunday May 5 in Miller County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) at 10:55 p.m., Noah Haskett, 20, of Brumley, MO, was driving a 2008 Pontiac G6 on Highway 42 east of Martin Road when the car began to skid going around a curve, went off the left side of the road, hit a tree and three fence posts. It then hit a ditch before coming to rest.

A passenger in the vehicle, a 16-year-old juvenile female from Iberia, MO, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. She was not wearing a seat belt and neither was the driver.

The Pontiac was totaled in the crash.

The next day at 8:09 p.m., Corey Brewer, 40, of Versailles, MO, was driving a 2021 Can-Am X3RR UTV west on Fresno Road east of Seals Road in Morgan County when Brewer lost control due to rough terrain and the UTV overturned.

Brewer received moderate injuries and was flown by MU Air Care to University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was not wearing a safety device. The UTV had moderate damage.

Last Thursday a Sedalia man was injured in another one-vehicle accident.

The MSHP reported that a 2020 Polaris RZR, driven by Junior Vance, 29, of Sedalia, MO, was northbound on Red Fox Road in Otterville in Morgan County when the vehicle overturned ejecting the passenger, Chad Wagenknecht, 33, also of Sedalia, MO.

Wagenknecht had moderate injuries and was taken by EMS to University Hospital in Columbia, MO. He was not wearing a safety device but Vance was. The Polaris had moderate damage.

A single-vehicle accident last Saturday sent a man to the hospital.

At 11:35 a.m., a 2000 Honda Shadow Aero motorcycle, driven by Daniel Bardin, 65, of Marshall, MO, was southbound on Route 7 at Velvet Antler Road in Camden County when the motorcycle went off the right side of the road and hit a ditch.

Bardin received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. He was wearing a helmet. The Honda had minor damage.
