Fire destroys three-bedroom home


LINN CREEK – A three-bedroom home has been destroyed in a fire last Tuesday morning that may have been electrical in nature.

On Tuesday February 26 at 10:12 a.m., the Osage Beach Fire Protection District (OBFPD) was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 3946 Anderson Hollow Road in Linn Creek.

Reports indicated that the structure was fully involved at the time of the call and it was additionally reported that a minor occupant of the home was the reporting party but had escaped with no injury.

Fire crews arrived on the scene and reported that the single story wood frame structure was fully involved and began a defensive attack.

The home consisted of three bedrooms, kitchen, living room and storage area.

Two sides of the structure had the exterior walls completely burned and the metal roof had collapsed into the structure. The metal had to be removed in order to extinguish fires below the collapse. All units cleared the scene at 1:49 p.m.

Final results of the investigation were still pending but indications are that the fire was electrical in nature, the OBFPD stated.

OBPD responded with two engines, three tankers, two Chief Officers and two investigators. OBFPD was assisted by the Mid-County Fire Protection District, who responded with two tankers and one utility vehicle with six personnel.

The Lake Ozark Fire Protection District provided coverage for the OBFPD while on scene and ran an additional two calls while in standby.

Additionally Ameren responded to secure the power.

There were no injuries to any firefighters or the public and the Red Cross has been contacted to assist the family.
