Four arrested in early morning ATM theft

OSAGE BEACH – Four people have been arrested in connection to an ATM theft that occurred last week.

According to the Osage Beach Police Department (OBPD) and the Probable Cause Statement (PCS) filed with the court, the following is what transpired early last Wednesday morning.

At 2:32 a.m. OBPD officers responded to Oak Star Bank, located at 5127 Osage Beach Parkway, for an alarm sounding.

When Officers arrived, they found an unoccupied white Ford F450 pickup truck with the driver’s side door open, parked perpendicular to the bank’s ATM. A chain was also attached to the bumper.

Officers also noticed that the ATM had been forced open and an undisclosed amount of money was taken.

The investigation found that the white truck was stolen from an Osage Beach business approximately two blocks west of the ATM.

Officers began reviewing local surveillance videos and observed at 2:26 a.m., a white Ford F450 driving in from a westerly direction and slowing down near the area of the ATM. Shortly after that, shadows can be seen moving towards where the ATM is. At approximately 2:27 a.m. a portion of an individual appearing to be male, slim build, wearing gray colored sweatpants, a dark colored hoodie and black tennis shoes is seen in the lower portion of the video, with what appeared to be a pry bar in his hand.

At the same time another possible subject, slim build, wearing black sweatpants, white tennis shoes and a black color top wearing black gloves is seen on the video. At 2:28 a.m. debris is seen coming from the area in which the subjects were standing. At approximately 2:29 a.m., three male subjects, two being slim builds and one being a chunky build, were seen running from the ATM area towards Osage Beach Parkway where they were met by a dark colored SUV traveling eastbound on Osage Beach Parkway.

The vehicle stopped on the Parkway and all the subjects are seen getting into the SUV. The vehicle is then seen leaving the camera view traveling eastbound on Osage Beach Parkway.

During the investigation officers were able to determine the vehicle was a dark colored 2023 Hyundai Tucson that was rented. They then began reviewing flock, where a black colored Hyundai Tucson, with tinted windows bearing a Minnesota registration was observed on flock at 1:45 a.m. traveling towards Osage Beach. This vehicle matched the description of the vehicle seen picking up the three suspects. The flock camera was being operated by the Missouri Department of Public Safety.

Officers then placed a flock alert for this vehicle and plate information.

A company called flock safety offers a wide variety of “safety” tools including license plate readers. Though the readers can alert on stolen vehicles and vehicles used in crimes (as in this case) in order for the OBPD to know where the Hyundai was prior to the crime, the license plate reader had to record all vehicles that passed by it.

At approximately 7:49 a.m., another flock alert advised that this vehicle was observed traveling on Highway 69/75 in Oklahoma near Pryor Oklahoma traveling towards Dallas TX.

OBPD officers made contact with multiple jurisdictions on the travel path of Highway 69/75 to Missouri City, TX, to notify them of the situation and to be on the lookout for this vehicle.

Soon after, the Durant Oklahoma Police Department observed the Hyundai traveling through their jurisdiction and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit began. Officers successfully deployed stop sticks and the vehicle was subdued and four black males were placed under arrest.

Inside the 2023 Hyundai Tucson officers said they located $47,315 in cash along with clothing and multiple cell phones. The screens on several cell phones inside the vehicle were shattered but one of the cell phones had the GPS navigation active and showing their destination to be in the Houston TX area.

All four suspects were taken to the Bryan County Sheriff’s Jail.

The amount stolen at Oak Star Bank in Osage Beach was $11,440.

The subjects are identified as Tyrese D. Holloway, 24, from Houston, TX, Augustus C. Sherman, 24, also from Houston, TX, Mylek M. Freeman, 24, from Missouri City, TX and Christopher Delasbour, 26, also from Missouri City, TX.

Probable Cause statements were filed with the Camden County Prosecutors Office and warrants were issued on all subjects for Stealing over $750 and Stealing a Motor Vehicle with no bond.

The OBPD investigation is ongoing, as of press time.

All subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
