Woman shot in lower extremities in Miller County


MILLER COUNTY – An Eldon man is in jail charged with allegedly shooting a female.

On December 31 just before midnight, deputies from the Miller County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) were dispatched to Sandstone Road outside of Eldon, MO, for a shooting.

After arriving, deputies located a female victim with a gunshot wound to her lower extremities. She was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for her injuries.

According to the MCSD, during the investigation deputies identified the shooter as Thomas J. Stogsdill Jr., 42, of Eldon, MO. Stogsdill was transported to the Miller County Sheriffs Office and interviewed.

The Miller County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office subsequently charged Stogsdill with the following charges:

• Domestic Assault - 2nd Degree
• Unlawful Use Of Weapon - Subsection 5 - While Intoxicated - Loaded Weapon
• Armed Criminal Action

Stogsdill is currently being held at the Miller County Adult Detention Center in lieu of a $75,000 bond.
