At 4:16 p.m. two juveniles found out what is was like to be in a vehicle while it overturns.

According to the MSHP, a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee was being driven by a 16-year-old juvenile male from Versailles, MO, east in the 11,000 block of Fairgrounds Road in Morgan County, when the driver lost control of the Jeep as it entered a curve.

It then went crossed the center of the road, went off the left side of the road and hit a ditch which caused the Jeep to rotate and rollover coming to rest on its top.

A 17-year-old male passenger received minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Both were wearing their seat belts and continuing with the theme of this week, the Jeep was totaled in the accident.

A Macks Creek man escaped with minor injuries after being hit while riding a motorcycle.

The MSHP reported that last Tuesday at 3:17 p.m. at Kennedy Drive and West Branch, Joseph Clay, 44, of Macks Creek, MO, was southbound on a 2024 Yamaha YZF 450R and failed to yield to a westbound 2014 Ram 1500 being driven by Vicki McKee, 67, also of Macks Creek, MO.

Living up to its name, the Ram hit the motorcycle.

Last Thursday a juvenile was injured in a crash involving four vehicles in Morgan County on Highway 52 east of Church Road.

The MSHP said the crash happened this way:

A 2016 Volkswagen Passat, driven by a 16-year-old female from Versailles, MO, was traveling east and slowed to make a left turn not knowing it was about to be hit by the other three vehicles.

At that time a 1999 Ford F250, driven by Andrew Ehst, 41, of Stover, MO, hit the rear of the Passat. This forced the Passat into the westbound lane of Highway 52 and was hit by a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Gary Walter, 80, of Versailles, MO.

A fourth vehicle, a 2004 Toyota Sienna, being driven by Susan Torkelson, 37, of Versailles, MO, attempted to avoid hitting the Ford F250 and went across the center of the roadway.

As a result of being hit by the Jeep, the Passat rotated into the path of the Toyota and was hit by it.

The 16-year-old driver suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital. All involved were wearing their seat belts.

The Volkswagen and Jeep were totaled and the Toyota and Ford F250 had extensive damage.
