Fund set up for Carson family

LAKE OF THE OZARKS – An official fundraising page has been set up for Officer Phylicia Carson, who died during a pursuit on August 31.

Carson was 33 years old and leaves behind a husband and six children that range in age from 3 to 16 years old.

As of last Sunday, the page had brought in over $55,000 for the family.

For those wishing to contribute the page can be found at:

The Osage Beach Police Department issued a thank you to everyone last Friday.

“The City of Osage Beach would like to thank the Lake Area Community for their support since the tragic loss of Officer Phylicia Carson last Saturday. Your thoughts, prayers, kind words, gestures, and stories about Officer Phylicia Carson mean a lot to us and her family. It is overwhelming, to say the least. We would like to thank everyone who came out to pay their final respects to Officer Phylicia Carson.

“We would also like to thank all the Law Enforcement, Fire, and EMS agencies that sent staff to the services, provided escorts, flew flags, offered assistance, and condolences, or just called to offer to talk or listen to help us navigate this tragic event.

“Thank you to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office and Camden County Ambulance District for covering our calls for service and the Camden and Miller County Communications Center Staff for covering our Communications Center so that our staff could attend Phylicia’s services and honor her giving the ultimate sacrifice to the community she served.

“Please keep the Carson family and our department in your thoughts and prayers.”
