One injured in three-vehicle crash

LAKE OF THE OZARKS – A three vehicle crash sent one to the hospital last Thursday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) at 8:44 a.m., a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, driven by a 32-year-old male from Stover, MO, was stopped on Highway 52 westbound waiting to make a left turn onto Route T in Morgan County.

Directly behind him was a 2017 Nissan Altima, driven by a 17-year-old male from Fortuna, MO, who was also waiting to make a left turn.

At that moment a 2020 Ram 4500, driven by an 18-year-old male from Versailles, MO, failed to slow down and ended up verifying the name of his truck by hitting the Nissan in the rear pushing it into the Silverado.

The 17-year-old had serious injuries and was flown by MU Air Care to University Hospital. All involved were wearing their seat belts.

The Silverado had minor damage, the Ram moderate damage and the Nissan was totaled.

The MSHP refused to release the names of those involved.

The next morning at 5:35 a.m., a 44-year-old female from Eldon, MO, was driving a 2021 Jeep Wrangler south on Route AA north of Wilkes Road in Morgan County, when the vehicle went off the right side of the road, overcorrected and crossed the centerline.

The driver overcorrected again, went off the right side of the road and overturned before hitting a tree. She suffered minor injuries and was taken by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, MO. She was wearing a seat belt. The Jeep was totaled in the crash.

A 2024 Ford F150, driven by a 61-year-old male from Versailles, MO, was eastbound and stopped on Route C at Kelsay Road in Morgan County waiting for traffic.

At that time another eastbound vehicle, a 2009 Lincoln Navigator being driven by a 22-year-old female also from Versailles, MO, came up from behind and hit the Ford in the rear, totaling both vehicles.

The female driver had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Capitol Region Hospital. Both were wearing their seat belts.

Last Friday afternoon at 12:45 p.m., a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by an 87-year-old male from Macks Creek, MO, was traveling east on Highway 54 at Route W in Camden County, when he failed to yield to a Missouri Department of Transportation flag person and hit an eastbound 1998 Freightliner, driven by a zero-year-old male (yes, that’s what the report said) from Dixon, MO.

The 87-year-old received serious injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital and then taken by MU Air Care to University Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt but the zero-year-old was.

Both vehicles had moderate damage.
