OB Parkway sidewalk improvements approved
OSAGE BEACH Phase 5 of the Osage Beach Parkway Sidewalk Improvements are on the way after the Board of Aldermen approved both readings of the bill last week.
Four companies bid on the project with Hessling Construction, Inc. being the low bidder. The bids received by the city were:
$169,149.48 from Concrete Solution, LLC
$168,477.21 from Stockman Construction
$166,628.35 from Rhad A. Baker Construction
$154,845.37 from Hessling Construction
Hessling has worked with the city in the past on the sidewalk project along Osage Beach Parkway from Case Road to Nichols Road.
This phase of the project will install sidewalks along Osage Beach Parkway from Barry Prewitt to Dumar Plaza.
The project was requested by the Osage Beach Special Road District and they are funding the sidewalk portion of the project at 100 percent.
The sidewalk portion of this project (which is funded by the Osage Beach Special Road
District) is in the amount of $154,845.37.
However, the board actually approved $177,486.09. The additional amount approved will replace the remaining concrete for the city portion of Stonecrest Circle and replacing some guard rail and end terminals.
The work should begin soon since there is some asphalt on this project to make sure the driveways match the concrete sidewalk and the city wants that done before cold weather sets in.
In other business at last weeks Board of Aldermen meeting:
Approved the second reading of the following bills:
Approved an ordinance establishing selected fee reimbursement provision to encourage development of projects or property where traditional economic development tools are insufficient or inapplicable to adequately support or encourage the project.
Authorized the expenditure of funds for the Veteran's Day Parade 2019 Event Support Request ($1,000)
Amended the city code regarding speed limits
The amended code corrects address road names and descriptions and lowers the speed limit on Case Road from 30 mph to 25 mph from the intersection of Sycamore Valley Drive to the end of the road due to homes being so close to the roadway and the lack of sidewalks.
Approved the Woodland Shores Overlay project in an amount not to exceed $9,988.20.
Approved the construction contract for the Woodland Shores Trash Enclosure to Lake Central Fence, LLC in an amount not to exceed $2,384.68.
In new business the board approved the following:
Approved the first reading amending the Human Resources System (Personnel) Rules and Regulations
This modification is to the Mobile Device Policy - Safety and Security, to allow employees to use hands free technology.
Approved the first reading of a Cooperation Agreement with Lake of the Ozarks TriCounty Lodging Association for a Destination Tournament Soccer Complex.
Approved both readings executing amendment #2 to the State Block Grant Agreement for the Grand Glaize Airfield Pavement Maintenance and Installation of Hold Sign with the Missouri Highway and Transportation Commission.
Approved changing the date of the October 17 Board of Aldermen meeting to October 24 due to The Lake Area Chamber Annual Fall Dinner which is scheduled for the same night.
Some of the aldermen may want to attend the dinner so the change in the meeting date alleviates the conflict.
