Morning fire destroys home
CAMDEN COUNTY – A Saturday morning fire has destroyed a house on Wagon Trail Road.
Last Saturday (September 21) at 8:07 a.m., the Mid-County Fire Protection District (MCFPD) was dispatched to a residential structure fire on Wagon Trail Road just west of Camdenton.
When firefighters arrived they found a single-story residence fully involved with heavy smoke and fire.
Just after firefighters arrived, the roof collapsed due to the extent of the fire.
Firefighters immediately began a defensive fire attack on the exterior of the residence. The fire was brought under control at 8:45 a.m.
The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire and is considered a total loss.
MCFPD responded with two engines, five tankers and two staff vehicles and were assisted on the scene by the Osage Beach Fire Protection District, the Camden County Sheriff's Department and the Camden County Ambulance District.
The Sunrise Beach Fire Protection District staged at MCFPD station 1 to cover any additional emergency calls for MCFPD.
The investigation was completed by the MCFPD Fire Marshal and the cause of the fire is undetermined due to the extent of the damage to the residence but is not considered suspicious in nature.
All fire department personnel cleared the scene at 10:59 a.m.
