Cole Camp man dead in motorcycle accident

MORGAN COUNTY – A Cole Camp man is dead following a motorcycle accident last week.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) last Friday at 8:19 p.m., a 2014 Harley Davidson Softail, driven by Alan Anderson, 61, of Cole Camp, MO, was driving westbound on Highway 52 at Route 135.

Anderson was following a 2013 Harley Davidson Electraglide, driven by Ronald Williams, 62, of Smithton, MO.

According to the MSHP, Williams attempted to make a right turn onto Route 135 when he was struck from behind by Anderson.

Anderson then struck a 2003 Jeep Liberty, driven by Edgar Todd, 46, of Versailles, MO.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported in this accident.

All three drivers were wearing their safety devices.

In another motorcycle accident last week, a Brumley man suffered moderate injuries after his motorcycle collided with a deer.

According to the MSHP, last Thursday, Mark Zimmerman, 40, of Brumley, MO, was westbound on Route JJ east of Bear Creek Road at 8:00 p.m. on a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he struck the deer.

He received moderate injuries and was flown by Staff for Life to University Hospital. He was wearing a safety device.
