Six victims sent to hospital in accident
LAKE OF THE OZARKS A two vehicle accident last week sent six people to the
hospital with various injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) last Wednesday at 2:40
p.m., a 2000 Buick LeSabre, driven by Veda Reeves, 42 of Versailles, MO, was
southbound at Highway 5 and Route J when the vehicle turned into the path of a
2012 Kia Sedan, driven by Richard Barnett, 84, of Gravois Mills, MO.
Richard Barnett and a passenger in his vehicle, Mary Barnett, 79, also of
Gravois Mills, MO, suffered moderate injuries and were transported to St. Marys
Hospital.
Reeves and three passengers in her vehicle suffered the following injuries:
Reeves suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Lake Regional
Hospital by ambulance.
Author Hansen, 86, also of Versailles, MO, suffered serious injuries and was
transported by Staff for Life to University Hospital
An eight-year-old female from Versailles, MO, suffered minor injuries and was
transported to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance
An 15-year-old female from Sunrise Beach, MO, also suffered minor injuries and
was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance
All six were wearing their safety devices and both vehicles were totaled.
In other accidents last week on the roadways:
A Sunrise Beach female received minor injuries in another two-vehicle accident
last Wednesday at 9:42 p.m.
According to the MSHP, a 2016 2016 Volkswagen Touareg, driven by Walter Conavay,
71, of Sunrise Beach, MO, was attempting to make a left turn at Highway 52 and
Highway 135 in Morgan County when it was struck by a 2011 Toyota Rav4, driven by
Haley McCullough, 16, of Stover, MO.
A passenger in the Volkswagen, Gail Conavay, 71, of Sunrise Beach, MO, suffered
minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital.
All were wearing their safety devices and both vehicles received extensive
damage.
A female from Springfield, MO, Jessica Wunneberger, 29, received minor injuries
last Monday (July 30) when her 2004 Chevrolet Venture struck a deer at Highway
54 just west of Cave Drive in Miller County at 12:35 a.m.
She was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by Miller County EMS. The vehicle
received moderate damage. She was wearing a safety device.
On the water last week a woman suffered serious injuries in a boating accident
on Monday July 30.
Kieley Martinez, 38, of Cheyanne WY, was riding in a 2007 Cobalt boat when she
jumped into the water and was struck by the prop. She was taken to Lake Regional
Hospital with serious injuries.
The accident occurred at the 22.7 Mile Mark of the Osage Arm at 7:49 a.m.
