MILLER COUNTY – A high speed pursuit ended last week after a Missouri State
Highway Patrol (MSHP) officer’s successful deployment of spike strips.
In a Miller County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) post last Wednesday, the incident
began on July 28 when dispatch received a report of a pursuit traveling
northbound on Highway 17 entering Miller County from Pulaski County.
The information received was that the Crocker Police were pursuing the vehicle
because the driver had felony warrants for his arrest out of Clinton County,

Deputies were dispatched to the area and took the lead on the pursuit just north
of Iberia.
During the pursuit, MCSD said that speeds reached were in excess of 100 miles
per hour.
A MSHP trooper was able to successfully deploy spike sticks and deflate one of
the vehicle’s tires.
The vehicle then continued on for about another mile where deputies were able to
stop the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Brandon Mencik, 36, of Plattsburg,
Missouri.
Mencik was arrested on a felony outstanding Clinton County warrant with a
$40,000 cash only bond and has been charged by the Miller County Prosecutor
with: Resisting Arrest/Detention/Stop By Fleeing - Creating A Substantial Risk
Of Serious Injury/Death To Any Person.
