Body found, second drowning of the year


LAKE OF THE OZARKS – The body of a man who was initially listed as “missing” by the Missouri State Highway Patrol after a collision between two boats has been found.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) on Saturday June 29 around 10:00 p.m., at the four mile marker of the Osage Arm, a 1990 Formula was traveling downstream when it collided with a 2002 Formula traveling upstream.

The driver of the 2002 Formula, Kelly Wise, 59, of Atlantic IA, received minor injuries while a passenger, Tammy Wise, also of Atlantic, IA, received moderate injuries. Both were transported by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital.

There were four people in the 1990 Formula.

• Bradley Siebeneck, 37, of Holts Summit, MO, received minor injuries and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by EMS.
• Brian Basham, 42, of Eldon, MO, also received minor injuries and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by EMS.
• Nathan Sneller, 37, of Jefferson City, MO, suffered serious injuries and was transported be EMS to Lake Regional Hospital and then flown to University Hospital.
• Jason Russell, 39, of Eugene, MO, was initially listed as missing.

The MSHP said that Russell was pronounced dead at Ozark Yacht Club the next day at 4:58 p.m. by Miller County Coroner Tim Bradley.

This is drowning number two for June and number 2 for 2019, according to the MSHP.

None of the occupants of either vessel were wearing safety devices.
