Delp charged in investigation

MILLER COUNTY – A Dixon man has been accused of several charges in an investigation that began on April 2.

Recently, the Miller County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has received complaints and concerns regarding an incident that occurred on Ponder Slab Road on April 2 and issued a press release to update those concerned about the incident.

On April 2, deputies responded to an address on Ponder Slab Road for a vehicle allegedly driving in a careless and imprudent manner which resulted in the vehicle crashing and causing property damage.

After establishing probable cause, a report and probable cause statement was written and submitted to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office against Robert Eugene Delp, 29, of Dixon, MO, for the offenses of Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Operating a Motor Vehicle in a Careless and Imprudent Manner Involving an Accident, Property Damage 2nd Degree, and Operating a Motor Vehicle without a Valid License.

On April 28, the Miller County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office filed on these charges and a criminal summons was drawn against Delp and sent via certified mail.

“Once an investigation is concluded and a probable cause statement is submitted to the Prosecuting Attorney requesting charges, the Sheriff’s Office has limited involvement in that incident until called to Court,” a MCSD spokesman said. “If you have any questions regarding the status of this or any other investigation, you can contact the Sheriff’s Office or Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.”
