Grant awarded to Camden County Library

CAMDEN COUNTY - Missouri Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft announced that the Camden County Library received a Technology Ladder Grant of $25,278, which will be used to upgrade technology-related equipment and software.

“Libraries are an integral part of our communities, providing Missourians with a wealth of knowledge and resources,” Ashcroft said. “Grants like the one the Camden County Library received are important to ensuring our libraries continue to provide the best services and programs to their patrons.”

The library will use the grant to replace eight computers to provide patrons with a more reliable and enjoyable experience when using the computers as well as provide a more secure environment in which to operate, Ashcroft stated.

Technology Ladder Grants provide funding for eligible libraries to help them move up the technology ladder to a higher level of service by providing financial assistance for technology hardware, software and website development.

The State Library has approved a total of 132 grant applications in the 2018 fiscal year, totaling $1,545,214 in federal awards that the secretary’s office has distributed to libraries throughout Missouri.

The grants are funded by the Library Services and Technology Act through the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services.
