Man arrested for assault

CAMDEN COUNTY – A lake area man has been arrested and charged with assault after allegedly stabbing another man in the neck.

According to the Camden County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) on May 1 deputies responded to a residence on Route D in Camden County in reference to a domestic incident involving an assault.

The male victim had allegedly been stabbed in the neck by the suspect, Garrett Sapp, 24 of Camdenton, who fled the scene prior to Deputies arrival.

The victim was treated at Lake Regional Hospital and released.

Sapp was located on May 9 and was taken into custody and was being held at the Camden County Adult Detention Center.  He is charged with a Class B Felony of Domestic Assault 1st Degree, $25,000 Cash or $250,000 surety.

According to court records, Sapp has been arrested previously for various reasons:

• March 13, 2019 – Arrested by a park ranger and charged with Possession Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid Of 10 Grams Or Less and Unlawful Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
• September 3, 2018 - Arrested by a park ranger and charged with Possession Of Controlled Substance Except 35 Grams Or Less Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid, Possession Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid Of 10 Grams Or Less and Unlawful Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia
• August 24, 2018 – Arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol Water Patrol Division and charged with Possession Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid Of 10 Grams Or Less, Unlawful Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Operate Vehicle On Highway Without A Valid License - 1st Offense and Operate Motor Veh W/Vis Reducing Material Applied To Windshield/Excess Vision Reducing Matrl Applied To Side Window
• August 20, 2018 – Arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for Possession Of Marijuana/Synthetic Cannabinoid Of 10 Grams Or Less. Court records state he entered a guilty plea and was fined $81.50
• March 29, 2016 – arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property- 3rd Offense. Court records state he entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to two years incarceration beginning on May 6, 2016
