Head-on collision sends Lebanon man to hospital


LAKE OF THE OZARKS – A Lebanon man has been injured in a head-on collision last week.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) on Sunday March 21 at 3:03 p.m., a 1999 Ford Ranger, driven by Jacob Cole, 29, of Lebanon, MO, was Southbound on Buckingham Road just north of Bear Paw Road in Camden County when the vehicle crossed the center of the road and struck a 2011 Ford E250, driven by Tyler Hill, 24, of Tuscumbia MO, head-on.

An occupant in the Ford Ranger, Joshua Cole, 34, suffered moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. The MSHP said none of them were wearing a seat belt.

Both vehicles received extensive damage.

Earlier that day (12:58 p.m.) a one-vehicle accident left a Roach man with minor injuries.

The MSHP reported that a 2008 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by Ronald Vancleave, 52, of Roach, MO, was traveling north on Highway 7 north of Highway 5 in Camden County when the vehicle accelerated and began to slide.

The Corvette went off the right side of the road edge, returned to the road and continued off the left side of the road where it struck a mailbox and overturned.
 
Vancleave sustained minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt.

The MSHP said the Corvette had “extensive” damage in the accident.

Another rollover accident last Thursday (March 25) resulted in two people being injured.

At 6:30 p.m. on Barton Road west of Route U in Miller County, a 1994 Dodge Dakota, driven by Gidget Claus, 49, of Brumley, MO, was westbound when the vehicle ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Claus suffered serious injuries and was taken by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital. A passenger in the vehicle, Jason Bowen, 47, also of Brumley, MO suffered moderate injuries but refused treatment at the scene.

The MSHP said neither was wearing their seat belt. The vehicle was totaled in the crash.

At 8:41 p.m., Gidget Claus was charged with the following:

A two-vehicle accident last Friday in Miller County sent a man to the hospital.

According to the MSHP, at 2:17 p.m. on Highway 54 west of Lakeland Drive, a 2002 Ford Explorer, driven by John Sullivan, 64, of O’Fallon, MO, was westbound when he slowed to merge into traffic in a construction zone and was hit in the rear by a 2007 International driven by Jimmy Buchholz, 62 of Steedman, MO.

Sullivan received moderate injuries and was taken by EMS to Lake Regional Hospital. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

The international sustained moderate damage and the Explorer was totaled in the crash.
