Two injured in rollover accidents
LAKE OF THE OZARKS - Two people were injured last week in two separate rollover accidents in Camden County.
The first accident occurred last Thursday (February 22).
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), Gentry Hillard, 76, of Richland, MO, was northbound on Route 7 two miles north of Richland around 12:35 p.m. when the 2013 Chrysler he was driving ran off the right side of the road, struck a culvert and overturned.
Hillard suffered serious injuries and was taken by Pulaski County Ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. He was wearing a safety device.
The second rollover accident happened last Saturday (February 24).
The MSHP said that a 2014 Jeep Patriot, driven by Lisa Cope, 42, of Sunrise Beach, MO, was southbound on Route 7 1,066 feet south of Sassafras Road when the vehicle went off the right side of the roadway, overturned and struck a tree.
Cope suffered serious injuries and was transported to Lake Regional Hospital by Ambulance. She was not wearing a safety device, according to the MSHP.
In other accidents last week reported by the MSHP:
Three people received minor injuries on Wednesday (February 21) when a 1999 Toyota Camry, driven by Vanessa Williams, 29, of Jefferson City, MO, crossed the centerline on Highway 17 (north of Route H in Miller County) and struck a 2012 Chevrolet G3500, driven by Patrick Scott, 48, of Eldon, MO in the side the MSHP said.
Williams, Scott and a passenger in Scott’s vehicle, Marjorie Gunter-Davis, 51, also of Eldon, received minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital.
According to the MSHP, Scott and Gunter-Davis were wearing a safety device but Williams was not.
The Camry was totaled and the G3500 received moderate damage.
Also last Saturday (around 8:45 p.m.) a Springfield MO man suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident on Highway 54 at Route AA in Miller County.
The MSHP said that a 2006 Chrysler Sebring, driven by Tammy Cox, 46, of Lebanon, MO, traveled off the left side of the road, crossed Route AA, entered the median and struck the ground.
An occupant, Danny Jones, 53, was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital by ambulance with minor injuries. He was wearing a safety device.
There was no injury information on Cox but she also was wearing a safety device.
