Arrest made in School of the Osage threat

OSAGE BEACH – A 15-year-old has been arrested after allegedly making a threat last week to the School of the Osage.

According to the Osage Beach Police Department (OBPD) at approximately 3:12 p.m. last Thursday, the OBPD received a call from School of the Osage Officials regarding a threat received by staff at the Middle School.

The School Resource Officer along with additional Osage Beach officers, detectives and officers from the Miller County Sheriff’s Office and the Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the Middle School Campus to assist.

The decision was made to delay dismissal until sufficient manpower was on scene to ensure the students and staff’s safety.

The initial investigation revealed that there was no active threat to the school but police began an investigation.

Last Friday OBPD officers along with Miller County deputies, State Troopers and the Miller County Juvenile Office, arrested a 15-year-old juvenile regarding this incident at School of the Osage Middle School

“Our children’s safety is our top priority, and we take these types of threats seriously,” an OBPD spokesman said. “We appreciate School of the Osage officials and local law enforcement agencies for their cooperation during the investigation.”

Since it is a juvenile that was arrested there will likely be no more information on this incident.
