Busts made in Miller County multiple thefts

MILLER COUNTY – Three people have been arrested for a string of burglaries in the Iberia and Brumley areas.

In late November the Miller County Sheriff’s Department had taken several reports of burglaries at unoccupied residences in the Brumley and Iberia areas. The burglaries were occurring during daylight hours.

Extra patrols then began to be conducted in those areas.

Information gathered during the investigation led to the location of the alleged stolen property from the burglaries along with the location of suspects involved in the felony crimes.

Last Monday (December 3) the Miller County Prosecuting Attorney issued warrants on the individuals involved.

The individuals have been identified as Billy Catron 39, of Iberia, David Bryant 35, of St. Elizabeth, and Nicholas Atkinson 33, of Tuscumbia.

Catron was charged with two counts of Receiving Stolen Property, one count of Burglary - 2nd Degree and nine counts of Stealing - Firearm/Explosive Weapon/Ammonium Nitrate

Bryant and Atkinson were both charged with one count of Burglary - 2nd Degree and nine counts of Stealing - Firearm/Explosive Weapon/Ammonium Nitrate.

All three individuals had a bond set at $100,000.

“This investigation is still ongoing and we ask that the victims please be patient with us, as we are still recovering and processing property,” said Miller County Sheriff Louie Gregoire. “We will be in contact with the victims as their property is processed.”
