CADV receives donation
LAKE OF THE OZARKS - Mike Heitman, State Farm Insurance agent in Osage Beach, recently hosted a drive to collect items for Citizens Against Domestic Violence (CADV).
The two-week drive brought in shopping carts full of items needed to stock the emergency shelter located in Camdenton. Heitman matched the amount contributed in donations and partnered with Mix 92.7 to promote the event.
Mike and his team would like to give a warm “thank you” to their State Farm policyholders and the community for their gracious support and giving.
“On behalf of the board, staff and clients of CADV, I want to extend a huge thank you to Mike Heitman, State Farm, and Mix 92.7 for the donation drive and support of our organization,” CADV director Sheree Keely said. “Clients who are fleeing violent situations often come to us with nothing so we have to support them in many ways. These types of donations will help us to continue to provide needed support. It also sends a wonderful message to our clients, that the community cares and supports them!”
CADV assists victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in the Lake of the Ozarks area by providing safe shelter, legal advocacy, offering support groups, free counseling and other services and programs.
The organization’s mission is “to cultivate a culture of resiliency in which individuals experiencing abuse are empowered to thrive. Through advocacy services and community engagement we will pursue an end to violence in the lake area.”
