Traffic stop turns into drug arrest

CAMDEN COUNTY – A Florida man has found himself behind bars after a traffic stop turned into a drug bust.

Last week (Tuesday October 17) at approximately 11:30 p.m., a traffic stop was executed on a 2016 Nissan in the area of Carol Road and Colten Court by the Camden County Sheriff’s Department (CCSD) and the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group.

With the assistance of an Osage Beach Police Department K-9, a search was made which resulted in the confiscation of approximately one ounce of cocaine, four and one-half grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash, according to the CCSD,

The driver Robert Leon Turner Jennings, 36 of Marco Island, Florida, was arrested and charged with a Class C Felony of Delivery of a Controlled Substance.

Jennings is being held on a $200,000 surety bond.
